It seemed like it happened overnight, but electronic cigarettes have quickly started to outsell the original: the traditional tobacco cigarettes. However, many are surprised to find that electronic cigarettes were actually invented back in the ‘80s, but it’s only been within the last few years that electronic cigarettes have really started to catch on. No matter when they were initially conceptualized though, there’s no doubt that they’re now a solacing piece of technology for many different people.
Electronic cigarettes use a very advanced micro-technology in order to work and be effective. Inside these tiny little devices, which look just like real cigarettes in size and shape, there is a very small atomizer, and this atomizer takes a liquid into it that is filled with nicotine and sometimes flavor, and then turns this liquid, often called e-juice, into a odorless vapor that is inhaled by the smoker. By doing this, the smoker is able to not only get their nicotine dose, they’re able to feel as though they’re physically smoking a cigarette, tricking their mind into thinking that they’re smoking the real thing. Since the e-juice is filled with nicotine, smokers get the same physical affects that they would from smoking a regular cigarette, except there are a lot more benefits to electronic cigarettes, since they’re healthier as they don’t have so many chemicals, toxins, and carcinogens that are found in tobacco cigarettes. Additionally, electronic cigarettes let off a odorless water vapor at the tip of the cigarette, giving the cigarette even more of a realistic look. Those around the smoker don’t seem to mind either, since the vapor doesn’t behave the way second hand smoke does. With no odor, full flavor, nicotine, and the feel of a cigarette, it seems as though the inventors managed to take the things that a smoker really wants and put it into one place.
